Calling all Members in the MS Delta! The Delta Council is Back and Better than Ever!
The Delta Council of MSHIMA is now under new direction!! Hannah Waldon, originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, has taken on the task of revamping the Delta Council and spreading the word of H.I.M. across portions of the MS Delta. Hannah previously served as the Systems Manager for the HIM Department at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Hospital in Little Rock. During her tenure at UAMS, she was actively involved with ArHIMA, serving as their Marketing Chairman for two years, a member of their Program Committee, and is currently completing a her term as their state secretary. With her move to MS, came new responsibilities! Hannah now serves as the Director of HIM and the HIPAA Privacy Officer at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS. In addition to her duties at Bolivar Medical Center, Hannah wanted to get more involved with MSHIMA and explored her options with MSHIMA President, Carol Melvin. After hearing of the need for a Delta Council Director, Hannah jumped at the opportunity to lead her fellow members!! Hannah has great plans for the MSHIMA’s Delta Council, and she is currently planning educational seminars for the spring, along with a coding roundtable session.Hannah stated, “I look forward to working with MSHIMA and making some great friends along the way! I am very excited to be in the Delta and consider this my home away from home. It definitely has that southern flair and charm that people only read about.
